4 28am, in the gloom before dawn, the first of the Australians who were to become known as the ANZACs, landed on Ari Burnu, now known as Anzac Cove, on 25 April 1915. Within a week 2,000 would be dead, within 8 months 8,141 would be dead and another 26,111 would be wounded. This was Gallipoli.
At 14,110 feet on Pikes Peek – the most challenging road I have even driven – no guard rail and 5,000 feet down.
The most well known viewpoint at the Grand Canyon.
Would be outstanding in winter.
